Have you been curious about a boudoir session, but want to know more about what to expect in terms of how exposed will I be? One of the questions we ask before our Clients step into our boudoir studio is what is your preference on imagery in terms of comfort level. The options are:
Conservative: Lingerie only, no implied nudity
Implied Nudity: Covered by angles, shadows, posing, sheet
Tastefully Exposed: Bare breast, full bum nude portraits without showing genitalia
So today we are going to show examples of each choice! It is often easier to describe exactly what it is through images like these:
Conservative: Lingerie only, no implied nudity
In the images below you can see that as much as they still are very intimate and not exactly "conservative" imagery, there is no nudity or implied nudity of any type. Our clients who chose this option will always be wearing some form of chosen lingerie in their photographs. All of our sessions include this type of imagery, wether it starts and ends here is completely our client's choice!
IMplied Nudity
When our clients choose Implied Nudity as part of their boudoir journey with us, they will end up naked! However full nudity is not a part of that experience, nipples, vaginas and full bums are covered by posing shadows, sheets or hand placement.
Tastefully exposed
This option is all about baring all, where you throw all your inhibitions out the window and let your body show unapologetically! These types of images will portray fully bare breasts and bums, however, we do not fully expose your vagina in any of our nude posings.
As you can see all these examples are stunning pieces of art. They portray the female body in a very sensual but powerful way. We always leave the choice up to our clients to decide their comfort level. We love embracing their needs as well as our vision to create a truly magical experience where everyone feels safe, honoured and respected. A boudoir session is a profound experience meant to empower you, and the only way to feel empowered is to be respected and heard. When choosing the right Boudoir photographer for you, one of the biggest things you should feel is SAFE. Especially when you are pretty much baring all of you (if you chose) during your session. We highly recommend doing your research and speaking with your photographer before your session. In a world full of emails and text, take a moment to actually get on the phone, do a video chat or even go out for coffee with your photographer of choice. The more you connect with your photographer the less nervous and more confident you will feel on your session day!
